What?

​

The ‘Arab Media and Transitions to Democracy’ research project would like to invite journalists and media professionals working in the Arab world or targeting Arab audiences to write for our research weblog and share their experiences.

 

In particular we are interested in the following lines of inquiry:

 

• The challenges and obstacles that you face on a daily basis when carrying out your work.

• How you evaluate freedoms in your country and how they affect your work.

• What are your views on journalistic practices in communicating conflicts that arise from transitions post-uprisings or political reforms and how do you see their role in facilitating an open, plural and tolerant debate around these conflicts?

 

Feel Free to propose any other topics if they are relevant to the daily practices of journalists and media professionals in the Middle East and North African region (MENA).

Who?

​

The invitation to write for our blog is open to:

 

• All those who work or are interested in journalism in the Arab world,

 

• Be they investigative journalists, photojournalists, columnists, cartoonists, talk show hosts, political analysts and producers, etc.

 

• Work in all media platforms: radio, television, press and online media.

 

• It also includes citizen journalists, bloggers and social media activists.

 

When?

 

There is no specific time, but we would like to receive your first contributions between March and June 2019.
